Rapidly designed Australia's international vaccine certificate end-to-end — from citizen request through to secure digital credential — under significant time pressure.
Working closely with technical and business teams within a very short timeframe, I delivered the visual design and layout for an acceptable, simple and workable print and mobile certificate — allowing Australians to travel internationally when vaccine proof was demanded at international borders.
Initially the team was very technically focused, and inclined toward a literal interpretation of the international specification. I produced a series of 8 increasingly differentiated certificate designs to demonstrate how a far better solution was achievable. The team chose the 8th option and fundamentally shifted their mindset on what could be delivered. I also supported external vendors producing both domestic and international versions of a digital certificate.
